Quick & Easy Pumpkin Decorating!

Hi everyone! I picked up some small pumpkins this weekend and decided to share some easy ways to decorate them with you. 

5 Minute Pumpkin Stack!

This one I honestly did in about 5 minutes, here's what you'll need:

- 3 Pumpkins (a large one, a slightly smaller one, and a small one) 
For the large one, I tried to pick a pumpkin with a flatter top. I used 2 orange and a white for nice contrast but you can do all one color too. 
- Hot Glue Gun 

Put glue on the top of the large pumpkin & on the bottom of the middle one and stick them together. It's important that you work fast or the glue will dry. Then repeat the step, put glue on the top of the medium pumpkin and on the bottom of the small one. That's all there is to it! 

Tiffany's Blue Polka Dot Pumpkin!
This one takes a little more time, but it's really cute. What you'll need:

- A small white pumpkin
- Hole reinforcements (these make the perfect size polka dots for the size of the small pumpkins)
- Americana "Bahama Blue" paint 
- Paint brush 

First just stick the hole reinforcements wherever you want your polka dots to be.

Now just paint your pumpkin. Be careful not to get paint inside the hole reinforcements, but if you do just wipe it off right away. No harm done. I used two coats of the paint just so it would be a solid blue.

Once it's dry you can peel off the hole reinforcements. You may have to use a small brush after you peel them off to touch up any paint the stickers take off. 

 Half-Glittered Pink Pumpkin! 
I have been seeing ones like these in stores a lot lately and decided to make my own and in honor of breast cancer month I made it pink. Here's what you'll need to make it:

- A small white pumpkin
- Martha Stewart glittering glue
- Martha Stewart glitter in the color "Kunzite" 
- Tape (I used washi tape just so you can see it, but you can use any tape.)
- Paint brush 

Tape your pumpkin around the half way point, so that you have a straight line of glitter later. Make sure to press it down in all the lines so that the glue doesn't get in there.

Now paint on the glue and sprinkle on the glitter. You can do the whole pumpkin or half at a time like I did. Then when it's dry peel off the tape & you have a beautiful pumpkin. Other color combos I think would look good on a white pumpkin are: black glitter, green glitter, or even purple glitter to give it more of a classic Halloween look.

Valentine's Day Cake Bowl Recipe

Valentine's Day is just around the corner! We decided to make a unique dessert to go with the Valentine theme. Introducing... the Cake Bowl!!   The Cake Bowl came about in an interesting way. We were rushing to make cake pops for a Birthday and ran out of time for the cake pops to set. So, with only minutes left, we smashed all the cake pops into a bowl, coated the top with melted chocolate chips, and topped it with sprinkles. Surprisingly, it was a hit!! It worked out in the end, plus we had a new desert recipe to add to our collection. The Cake Bowl is an easy-to-make, moist, and delicious dessert. We would love to share it with you!

1 Strawberry cake mix
Fresh strawberries to garnish
3 cups Vanilla icing
White chocolate chips
Large glass bowl 

First, bake your cake according to the directions. While the cake is cooling, you can make the icing. I used this vanilla icing recipe by Rachael Ray, which turned out great! I think homemade icing tastes a ton better than store bought, even though it takes a bit more time. Once that's done, grab a large mixing bowl and crumble your cake into it. Then, add 3 cups of icing.

Now, its time to get messy! Mix your cake and icing until thoroughly combined. I used my hands for this. Then pour it into your large glass bowl, keep in mind that it'll be served in this bowl. It should look like this when your done.

Set up your double broiler to melt the chocolate on medium - low heat, stirring constantly.  Once it's melted, pour a layer on top of the cake. Pour enough on so that you don't see any cake showing through. 

Grab your strawberries and sprinkles and decorate your cake bowl! Have fun with it! Once your done, put it in the fridge for half an hour before serving, so the chocolate sets and hardens a bit.

Quick Thanksgiving Decor

One of the things I love about Thanksgiving is all the warm, beautiful orange tones! It took only minutes to decorate our foyer table for the holiday. I took some dried wheat stalks and tied them together with an orange ribbon. The pumpkin cheesecake candle from Target adds to the warm decor and smells great!

Mango Banana Smoothie

Hi everyone! I'm Serena & I'm going to be giving you all some great recipes.
One of my favorite things to make is my Mango Banana Smoothie which is super healthy and filling.  It makes a great breakfast and it doesn't take very long!
This makes a 28 ounce smoothie.

All you need is:
a blender
a kitchen knife
1 fresh mango
1 banana
2 cups vanilla yogurt (I use low fat)
3/4 cup 2% milk
1/2 - 1 Tbs. honey

First, cut your mango and banana. Then, put your yogurt and milk into the blender. Add in the mango,banana, and honey.  Blend it on the smoothie setting for about 30 seconds and voila!  Isn't it such a pretty color. Enjoy!!

If you cant get fresh mango, frozen (1cup cubed) will do.

How to Cut a Mango Into Cubes

 I absolutely love mangoes!!  They are a great tropical, summer fruit, but they can be tricky to cut.  I'm going to show you step-by-step how to cut one into cubes. There are a lot of ways to cut mangoes but this way is quick and super easy.  Lets get right to it!

Step 1: Grab your knife, cutting board, spoon and wash your mango.

Step 2: Cut the sides off the mango, making sure to watch for the pit.

Step 3: Now put the mango on its side so it's flat on the cutting board and cut these two sides off.

Step 4: Score the mango. Make sure you don't cut through the peel.

Step 5: Grab your spoon and scoop the mango out of all four peels.

Step 6: Your mango is in cubes and ready to enjoy!
